Dear friends and family,
We had a wonderful, wonderful celebration. It was so nice to see so many old friends and make new ones. It was wonderful to celebrate together once again. We extend many thanks to those who volunteered their time to plan this event and to make it all work out so well.
We recorded some of the significant parts of this weekend and we'd like to share them with you. We've already posted some of the audio recordings here and a DVD containing video, picture slideshows and audio content is currently under development, so keep checking back here for new posts!
Friday night we had a Heritage Hymn Sing at 7:00 pm led by former pastors Norm & Marge Patton! A variety of special groups participated in the program. Following the singing we enjoyed ice cream sundaes provided by Shirley Howard and her helpers. Singing and ice cream—what more could you ask?
Saturday featured an Open House between 10 am and 3 pm. Former pastor Jim Lyon presented the story, Miracle on 78th Street at 11 am in the gym. Hospitality Room in 311, hosted by Marcia Porter and Iris Swisshelm, was a great place to fellowship with current and former church members. Many historical picture boards were on display throughout the building.
Sunday morning included Sunday School at 9:00 am, and the Worship Service at 10:00 am. There was much to anticipate!
- Guest Speaker, former pastor Jim Lyon
- Celebration Choir led by Candy Bratcher
- High noon Ground-breaking Dedication for our new sanctuary
- Catered buffet lunch at approximately one o’clock
We had a wonderful time of celebration with you!
